The New York Knicks fired head coach Tom Thibodeau just after losing to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
So, what's next? Where do the Knicks turn now? Some early links included UConn head coach Dan Hurley and former Villanova coach Jay Wright.
Hurley was interviewed for the Los Angeles Lakers opening last summer before he decided to return to Storrs after winning back-to-back NCAA Tournament titles.
Once again, his name has emerged, although the UConn coach had a simple answer when asked about it on Tuesday night, per Dom Amore of The Hartford Courant.
"Not another summer of that," Hurley said.
Hurley stayed at UConn despite serious interest from the Lakers, and the ties to the school and the city had a lot to do with that.
After Hurley turned down the Lakers job, he signed a six-year extension worth $50 million to keep him in Storrs through the 2029-30 season.
UConn sources also aren't worried about Hurley leaving, per David Borges of CT Insider.
"However, UConn sources indicated that there isn't a whole lot to worry about in this instance."
Hurley turned down a six-year, $70 million deal from the Lakers to take less money to stay at UConn, although the lure and pressure of LA would've been something else entirely.
Now, it sure seems like Hurley isn't even interested in an NBA job, at least for the time being.
