The New York Knicks trade rumors are picking up, and everyone is running to the NBA trade machine to create their favorite proposals. One player that has been at the center of many of the Knicks' trade proposals is Karl-Anthony Towns. Knicks-Towns trade rumors started when the team was eliminated from the Eastern Conference Finals, and reports surfaced that some within the organization blame Towns’ defensive shortcomings as part of the reason for New York’s downfall.
We have a bold Knicks trade proposal that might not solve the Knicks' defensive problems, but could still mark a huge improvement for New York.
The Knicks-Towns trade looks like this:
Knicks Receive: DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis
King Receive: Karl-Anthony Towns and MarJon Beauchamp
For this Knicks trade proposal to actually work, someone would likely have to sweeten the pot with some draft assets. Depending on how badly the Kings are looking to reset and get off the large contracts of Sabonis and DeRozan, they could add a pick or two to this trade to get things done.

For the Knicks, this gives them a second offensive hub to take the pressure off of Brunson. Sabonis is an All-NBA level star and would provide them a toughness and playmaking presence at the center position that they lack in Towns. They would also pick up a savvy veteran scorer in DeRozan who continues to get buckets late into his career.
For the Kings, this trade would be all about resetting. They would get a younger All-NBA player in Towns, and could move forward into their rebuilding years without veterans like Sabonis and DeRozan on the books.
Although this Knicks-Towns trade could be unlikely, it’s always interesting to fire up the NBA trade machine and see what kind of trades you can make. And you never know… we’ve seen some crazy NBA trades go down before.
