The Minnesota Timberwolves have a pretty loaded roster.
But they don't have a top-tier point guard.
There might just be one available on the trade market.
The Memphis Grizzlies and Ja Morant might be heading toward the end of their relationship. And if that happens, a lot of teams would be interested.
The Wolves would be on that list, according to their top-notch beat writer Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.
Krawczynski tells SiriusXM NBA Radio that the Timberwolves have "checked in with Memphis on Ja."

So far this season, Minnesota has relied on Donte DiVincenzo as its starting point guard. He took over the gig for Mike Conley, who was demoted to a reserve role.
That combination is still reliable, but the upside at the position isn't particularly high.
Morant may have some concerns that come with him, but when he's at his best on the court, there are few point guards that match his ability.
Pairing Morant with Anthony Edwards would be a combination that the rest of the NBA would be very intimidated by.
The Wolves would have to figure out what kind of package could fetch Morant. But they've drafted multiple talented centers in recent years who aren't playing at all, so someone like Joan Beringer could be a part of a deal, along with draft picks and maybe a veteran, too.
It's certainly worth pursuing for Minnesota, because the Western Conference is a slugfest that requires all the star power a team can get.
