Is Chris Finch coaching tonight? Why Timberwolves coach was replaced against Spurs image

The Timberwolves are set to play the Spurs in a marquee Western Conference matchup on Sunday night, but the Timberwolves will be missing one big name from their bench.

It's not a player, but rather their head coach, as Chris Finch won't be present.

Why is Timberwolves' head coach Chris Finch out against the Spurs?

The Timberwolves will be without head coach Chris Finch on Sunday after it was announced that he's dealing with an illness (via Marc Stein).

He will be replaced by assistant coach Micah Nori, who will be taking over the head coaching duties for tonight's game.

Nori has been able to take over head coaching duties for the Timberwolves in the past, most notably when he did during the postseason a couple of years ago, after Chris Finch suffered an injury that required him to coach behind the team's bench.

The Timberwolves and Spurs are both 6-4 in their last 10 games.

Minnesota has an overall record of 25-14 as the #4 seed, and San Antonio has an overall record of 27-11 as the #2 seed.
