The Minnesota Timberwolves entered the 2025-26 once again with high hopes in a loaded Western Conference, coming off their fourth consecutive playoff trip last year.
It's safe to say those high hopes for the new season heavily weigh on guard Anthony Edwards, now in his age-24 season as a dominant scoring weapon all over the floor. However, the Timberwolves have had to spend some time in the early season without their three-time All-Star.
Edwards dropped 41 and 31 points in his first two games of the season, but then exited a matchup against the Indiana Pacers with an injury. He's has been sidelined since.
When will Edwards return? Here is what to know about his injury and what it means for him and the Timberwolves.

Edwards' injury status
Edwards has been dealing with a right hamstring strain, ESPN's Shams Charania reported.
He left the Timberwolves' game against the Pacers on Oct. 26, playing just three minutes with five points before being ruled out with hamstring tightness. It's unclear exactly when Edwards injured his hamstring, but after further evaluations, he was ruled out for multiple games with a hamstring strain.
When will Edwards return?
Edwards was ruled out for two weeks with his hamstring strain, per Charania. That put him on track to be re-evaluated, or return, on Nov. 9 or 10. However, the Timberwolves then announced that Edwards would be re-evaluated in one week, which would be a quicker timeline for the star guard.
Edwards is set to return to the Timberwolves for their matchup against the New York Knicks on Wednesday, Nov. 5, per Charania.
Edwards missed four games for the Timberwolves; they went 2-2 in that stretch, with losses to Denver and Los Angeles, but wins over Charlotte and Brooklyn.
In Edwards' absence, Minnesota has relied on Donte DiVincenzo, Jaylen Clark, Bones Hyland, Terrence Shannon Jr. And Mike Conley to lead its guard rotation.
