Former NBA veteran Jeff Teague spent some time with the Milwaukee Bucks before calling it a career.

For 21 games and a championship run, Teague was teammates with the Bucks’ current star, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

As Teague watches the situation unfold in Milwaukee, the one-time All-Star suggests he would like to see Antetokounmpo find a new playing destination after the superstar had a battle of boos with his team’s own fan base.

“Free Giannis,” Teague said, agreeing with his Club 520 co-hosts’ sentiment that it’s time for Antetokounmpo to split with his franchise.

What’s Going on With Giannis and the Bucks?

Since the end of the 2025 NBA Playoffs, the basketball world had its eyes on Giannis, as many believed there was a legitimate shot that he could request a trade.

The superstar forward made it clear that he wasn’t going to request his way out. All signs pointed to Giannis seeing things through for at least the 2025-2026 NBA season.

Some injuries have affected Giannis’ status this season. As a result, the Bucks struggled in his absence. Since he returned, they haven’t been able to fully climb out of a slump. The Bucks are 17-24 on the year, sitting 11th in the Eastern Conference. They are in the midst of a three-game losing streak,

The trade deadline is just a few weeks away, and it’s clear the Bucks aren’t contenders. So far, Giannis hasn’t asked for a trade out of Milwaukee, but many, including Teague, are encouraging it. The Bucks’ front office is likely in search of a co-star for the former MVP, rather than gauging Giannis’ value in a trade.

But there is still plenty of time for the situation take a different direction.
