The Milwaukee Bucks have been the center of attention this year for trade speculation, due to the fact that they are 11-16 and 10th in the Eastern Conference, even though their superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo, is still balling out. With this in mind, many think Giannis will ask for a trade.
However, it seems Milwaukee hasn’t given up yet. According to The Athletic’s Sam Amick, the Bucks have checked in with the Sacramento Kings about All-Star guard Zach LaVine.
“Yet as is the case with so many other teams, the realities of the market might provide a sobering dose of reality once we get closer to dealing time. The Kings’ Zach LaVine, for starters, could certainly help several contending teams. To that point, league sources confirmed that Milwaukee has done recent due diligence on the 30-year-old guard (and has shown interest in the past),” Amick wrote.
This season, LaVine is averaging 20.2 points, three rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, while shooting 38.5% from deep. While he isn’t the same level as Giannis, he would be a perfect No. 2 option for the Bucks.

LaVine would easily slot into the offense as well, as his perimeter shooting would complement Giannis’ inside game perfectly. Giannis’ drives into the paint would leave LaVine open for threes, and LaVine’s shooting would draw defenders to him, giving Giannis openings in the lane.
Hopefully, the Bucks pursue this by the trade deadline. If they do, they could have a real shot at the playoffs, which is what Giannis ultimately wants.
