Giannis Antetokounmpo's potential trade from the Milwaukee Bucks would be a serious issue for the franchise. It has been a long time since the team has had a player with the star power of Giannis, and the trade rumors about him moving to a more prestigious franchise have been hot all season.
However, Giannis recently confirmed his loyalty to the team that drafted him in 2013.
"The finals are different, I hope to be back soon with the Bucks," Giannis said, via Eurohoops.
Antetokounmpo isn't a player who would say a comment like that lightly. He has remained committed to the Bucks through the good times and the bad, and these remarks confirm that he is willing to stick it out in his long-time home.
While Giannis' main goal is to win another championship, he seems to believe that the Bucks can surround him with the pieces to make that happen.
Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points per game for the second consecutive season, while shooting over 60% from the field. It is his third-straight year over 30 points per game, which is a mark he failed to reach over his first nine seasons.
It was a lost year for Milwaukee after they lost Giannis' partner, Damian Lillard, to a blood clot issue for most of the regular season. Lillard made a surprising return for the postseason, but tore his Achilles in Game 4 of the first round.
With Lillard likely out for most of next season, the Bucks must find a way to make Giannis' comments come true without their second-biggest star.
