Bucks get best possible Achilles injury news on Giannis Antetokounmpo image

After leaving just a few minutes into the game against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night with what looked to be a non-contract Achilles injury for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, many feared for the worst.

While it's still not a guarantee that Antetokounmpo isn't dealing with that or a long-term injury, head coach Doc Rivers had some promising words for Bucks and NBA fans around the world.

"Doc Rivers tells reporters that he thinks the Bucks have ruled out an Achilles injury for Giannis Antetokounmpo," Eric Nehm wrote.

Antetokounmpo's injury comes on the same day that Shams Charania of ESPN reported that he and his agent, Alex Saratsis, have started conversations with the Bucks on his future with the team amid a tough start to the year.

"Just in: Giannis Antetokounmpo and his agent Alex Saratsis have started conversations with the Milwaukee Bucks about the two-time NBA MVP's future – and discussing whether his best fit is staying or elsewhere, sources tell ESPN. A resolution is expected in the coming weeks."

Antetokounmpo has only played in 16 games this season due to injury, with the Bucks playing relatively poor basketball. With Antetokounmpo on the court, Milwaukee seems to be a decent team.

It didn't do so with him off the court, but it was able to get a win against the Pistons on Wednesday night, a much-needed win.
