The NBA has been swamped with injuries to begin this season.

Players like LeBron James, Jalen Williams, Jayson Tatum, and more have yet to play due to an injury.

One other player has been held off the court due to a left ankle injury, and that would be Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro.

Herro began his career by coming off the bench and eventually won a Sixth Man of the Year award, but has now blossomed into an All-Star-caliber player.

Miami has started the season 4-4, and although they have turned heads with their impressive offense, they likely aren’t a threat to any high-end teams.

Herro could be of help to many NBA teams, and the Heat might be smart enough to capitalize on his value before teams recognize they are in a selling position.

If it comes to that point, Dan Favale of Bleacher Report believes that Herro could be on the move to a Western Conference team.

“Herro has improved enough to run the show for long pockets of time. He has long been one of the more underrated from-scratch shot-makers, and he leveled up as facilitator amid a skeleton crew of orchestrators in Miami last year,” Favale said Thursday.

“Covering up for Herro defensively will be no sweat. Cooper Flagg, Anthony Davis and the Mavs' overall size are equipped to handle it.”

Although it may be difficult to match the salaries, the Heat and Dallas Mavericks would need to include a third team.

Herro has adapted to becoming a ball-handler, but wouldn’t suffer when Kyrie Irving comes back because of his spot-up ability.

Heat ownership decided not to give Herro an extension and even drafted a point guard in Kasparas Jakučionis this past draft.

The Mavericks may be willing to give up some value if it means bringing in a guard to save Cooper Flagg’s rookie season.
