The Miami Heat have won two consecutive games over the past two days, a good run they've needed for a while. They had a 15-15 record before these two wins, so now, they are climbing the Eastern Conference standings.

In the Heat's latest 142-116 win against the Indiana Pacers, Wiggins had a superb performance. He was the standout performer, posting 28 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Wiggins also displayed solid energy that Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra loved to see.

Spoelstra loves what he is seeing from Wiggins

As a former number one overall pick, Wiggins has operated under huge expectations over the years. He has not met superstar expectations, but he has done well to be quite a reliable player throughout his career. Thankfully, he does have an All-Star appearance in his career when he played for the Golden State Warriors.

Wiggins always had the potential to be an impactful player, and he is doing well with the Heat. This season, he is averaging 15.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. Those are not star-level numbers, but they are quite good for a high-level role player like him.

The Heat have lofty goals this season, as they want to reach the postseason and make some noise. Wiggins could be a crucial part of those plans, but it might change because he is a popular name in the trade market. In the meantime, he has gained some good favor with Spoelstra, who loves it when Wiggins is aggressive.

"Assertive on both ends of the court. It's fun to see him when he's competing at that level. He has the gifts to make the difficult look easy. The contests, the blocks, the multiple efforts he is able to do defensively... He was very assertive. We're a better team when he has that mindset," Spoelstra said after the win against the Pacers.

Moving forward, the Heat have a deeper roster than most people realize. With Wiggins, he has a reliable wing who can both score and defend at a high level. If they can get it all together, the Heat could once again be the surprise team of the Eastern Conference, like they have done multiple times under Spoelstra.
