The Miami Heat have had an inconsistent season this year, but one consistent player has been Norman Powell. He has remained healthy throughout the season and has produced some All-Star numbers.
In the 2024-25 season, Tyler Herro was the clear-cut star for the Heat. Unfortunately, he had to sit out the first few weeks of the NBA season, which led to him finding it difficult to adjust to head coach Erik Spoelstra's system and mesh with Powell in the backcourt.
Spoelstra sees promise with the new duo
The Heat are much better than their record suggests, as they are in the Play-In Tournament spots in the Eastern Conference. This was not what they expected early in the season because they started off the season strong.
Powell has been excellent since the season tipped off, but Herro has only started ramping up his season. He was dealing with an injury for a long time, so the Heat would love that these two are meshing well together.

In recent games, they are doing well with how they play alongside each other. It has not been the best dynamic because they are still losing, like Thursday's loss to the Boston Celtics. However, they did combine for 48 points in the defeat.
Before the loss to Boston, Spoelstra did see some encouraging signs between the two guards.
"Just give us more time. I think it's going to look better and better. You know, we need all of our weapons and getting that continuity and an ability to play off each other's strengths, and that comes from actual time out there together. But I've been encouraged by what I'm seeing," Spoelstra said about the Heat's dynamic.
Moving forward, the Heat should have a good team, especially with Bam Adebayo looking to bounce back from his slump. A strong team will love a more dynamic offense, and it appears that the Heat are headed that way.
