Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant has dominated NBA trade talks this week, and one team has emerged as a potential landing spot.
The Stein Line's Jake Fischer reported Thursday that the Miami Heat are seriously pursuing Morant.
"Miami continues to be mentioned as a team with legit Morant interest," Fischer said. "The Miami Herald's Anthony Chiang reported Wednesday that there's been tangible dialogue between the two sides."
The Grizzlies are looking to trade Morant, who has had a rocky season so far. He was suspended earlier this season after being publicly combative with teammates and coaches.

He has played in just 18 of the Grizzlies' 39 games, averaging 19 points and 7.6 assists. He is shooting a career-low 40.1% from the field and 20.8% from three.
Other reported suitors for Morant have been limited so far. He is making $39.4 million this season and is under contract through the 2027-28 season. The Grizzlies reportedly want a first-round pick and a young player in return for Morant.
"Issue it too early to brand the Heat as the proverbial leaders in the clubhouse for landing Morant via trade? As early in the process as we are, it also seems fair to ask: Who else besides Miami could be classified as such?"
Morant, a two-time NBA All-Star, has been the Grizzlies' franchise player since being drafted by the team in 2019. He has led Memphis to three playoff appearances, including a trip to the second round in 2022.
Memphis has until the Feb. 5 trade deadline to find a home for Morant.
