Heat get injury updates on Tyler Herro, Davion Mitchell after missing time image

The Miami Heat have played their way into a slump since the start of the new month. With a 1-4 record over their last five, injuries have forced head coach Erik Spoelstra to play without multiple starters.

The entire Miami Heat starting lineup has been forced to miss time due to injuries this season, resulting in the team's losing streak.

Most recently, the injury bug has impacted both Davion Mitchell and Tyler Herro. An update on the two starting guards has been provided.

Tyler Herro (toe) and Davion Mitchell (groin) return to practice

According to Miami Heat insider Anthony Chiang, both Tyler Herro (toe) and Davion Mitchell (groin) have returned to practice this week.

Herro, 25, has only played five games this season. He missed the beginning of the campaign while recovering from offseason surgery to address posterior impingement syndrome in his left ankle/foot. Now, a toe injury has kept him out of Miami's past two games.

His status for Dec. 9 against the Orlando Magic is still up in the air.

Mitchell, 27, is dealing with a groin issue that forced him to miss his first game of the season on Dec. 6 in the Heat's loss to the Sacramento Kings.

After returning to practice, the usual starting point guard is expected to return on Dec. 9 against the Orlando Magic.
