Demarcus Cousins and Chandler Parsons are confident in Heat’s ceiling this season image

The Miami Heat entered this season with some lowly expectations, but so far this season they’ve shattered any doubts about their team in the early going.

The Heat have jumped out to a 7-4 record, good for third in the Eastern Conference. After trading away franchise icon Jimmy Butler last season, and then bowing out of the first round in embarrassing fashion, expectations were quite low for this Heat team, but they’ve quickly put the league on notice so far.

Additionally, the Heat have been without leading scorer from last season, Tyler Herro due to his recovery from ankle surgery, making their hot start even more impressive.

On FanDuel TV, former NBA players Demarcus Cousins and Chandler Parsons spoke very highly of the Heat, and expect them to cause some trouble for contending teams come playoff time.

“They’re doing their thing right now. A lot of people had them written off but when you look at the roster and how they play, it’s a good combo of players,” Cousins said.

“This is a team come playoff time we’ll start saying Heat Culture again and a team you don’t want to face,” Parsons then added.

The Heat will look to continue their strong start to the season as they aim for redemption following a messy, and disappointing season last year.
