Entering Tuesday's game on a three-game losing streak, the Miami Heat were in desperate need of a win.

Facing the Phoenix Suns, they got what they were after, winning a close game 127-121. For Miami, there was no bigger performer than three-time all-star Bam Adebayo.

Although he's been criticized for his lower scoring numbers and lack of offensive efficiency, Adebayo turned in his best performance of the year. He finished the night with 29 points on 11-for-15 shooting to go along with nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block.

Additionally, the duo of Norman Powell and Tyler Herro combined for 50 points, as they outdueled the Suns' duo of Devin Booker and Grayson Allen who also combined to score 50.

During the win, Adebayo earned a significant distinction in Heat history. With 29 points, Adebayo passed 15-year NBA Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning for second all-time in Miami Heat franchise history with just under 9,500 career points.

Following the game, Adebayo reflected on the milestone while also appreciating Moruning's success, saying: "It's nothing but respect and it's and honorable moment."

That said, first place will be hard to catch, as Miami Heat legend Dwayne Wade sits over 12,000 points ahead.

Adebayo's teammate, Tyler Herro sits sixth on the list with a chance to pass LeBron James this season to move into the top-five.

Adebayo and the Heat will return to action Thursday, facing the Boston Celtics at home.
