NBA insider reveals three teams interested in Ja Morant after Grizzlies' trade news image

With the news that the Memphis Grizzlies are finally interested in moving Ja Morant by the trade deadline, many teams will be picking up the phone to make an offer. However, some teams will want him more than others.

ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel has revealed three teams showing interest in trading for Morant, all needing a star point guard at the helm, or to form a duo in the backcourt.

“Morant is expected to generate interest around the league over the next three weeks, leading up to the NBA trade deadline, with the Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Miami Heat being teams that have previously expressed interest in the Grizzlies' star guard, league sources told ClutchPoints,” Siegel wrote.

Here’s a breakdown of each interested party:

Sacramento Kings

The Kings need a point guard, with Russell Westbrook holding the line, but not their point guard of the future. Ironically, the Kings had two young star guards, De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton, at the same time, and ended up trading both of them. Morant would fit into their core's timeline and provide some instant offense for Sacramento.

Minnesota Timberwolves

The Timberwolves have yet to find a superstar duo for Anthony Edwards, following the trade of Karl-Anthony Towns last year. Morant would create a super backcourt for Minnesota, and having two high-flying guards would be scary for any team playing them.

Miami Heat

The Heat have no defining superstar to lead their team after trading Jimmy Butler. They have stars in Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo, but no superstars to rally around. Getting a guy like Morant would work well, as he would fit into the Miami lifestyle and culture and become the instant face of the franchise.
