The Los Angeles Lakers won't have LeBron James on the court on Sunday night against the New Orleans Pelicans.

LeBron's new injury worries
There is added concern here because this is new.
James was sidelined for the initial part of the season due to right-sided sciatica. While that was unfortunate, it represented a single, specific ailment.
Since James' return, his sciatica hasn't been mentioned on an injury report.
This, instead, is an absence due to "left foot injury management."

James has experienced left foot problems in prior seasons, yet there wasn't a clear moment this season when he incurred this particular injury.
Despite that, James has enough pain that it's something that has to be managed.
Maybe it's just a way of sitting LeBron in the first game of a back-to-back.
But if it's a real injury, it seems new, and that's not ideal.
