Pistons intentionally threw the ball to Lakers' Bronny James in hilarious video image

When an NBA team is blowing out its opposition, it will often choose not to shoot anymore late in games.

That's what the Detroit Pistons did against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night, except they did it in a way that also involved Bronny James.

Daniss Jenkins was dribbling the ball for the Pistons as the shot clock wound down. Instead of just holding the ball, though, he chose to pass it toward LeBron's son.

It would've been a turnover for Jenkins either way, so it's not exactly clear why he opted to toss it to Bronny.

If Bronny had been expecting it, he would've nabbed an easy steal.

But it caught Bronny, and everyone else, off guard. The ball bounced harmlessly away.

Bronny played four minutes on Tuesday night, dishing out two assists and missing his only shot attempt, a 3-pointer.

On the season, Bronny has played in 18 games and is averaging 1.6 points per game.

This end-of-game moment won't have any significance as far as Bronny making his way further into an NBA career.

It's just funny, and a bit inexplicable, which adds to the amusement factor.
