The Los Angeles Lakers are starting to find their footing following a rough six-game stretch between early and mid-January.
The franchise has won four of its last five games and is inching up the Western Conference standings at the right time. The Lakers will attempt to extend their win streak to three games when they face the Donovan Mitchell-led Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.
However, it’s challenging not to look ahead to Los Angeles’ Marquee matchup against the New York Knicks on Sunday, as NBC recently made an exciting announcement involving the Lakers, Knicks, and WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark.
“PER RELEASE: Caitlin Clark will join NBC Sports as a special contributor for the newly-launched Basketball Night in America on Feb. 1, preceding the Lakers-Knicks game at Madison Square Garden,” IndyStarSports’ Chloe Peterson reported Tuesday. “It will be CC’s first time in an analyst-type role on TV.”
It’s safe to say many NBA fans will be tuned into NBC Sports on Sunday to hear Clark analyze the highly anticipated matchup between two storied franchises.
After all, Clark is among the most popular basketball figures in existence, making it logical to check out the Indiana Fever phenom in a different role. It’s no secret that Clark and Lakers star LeBron James have mutual respect for one another, as Clark has declared James the GOAT and James has raved about Clark’s stellar play in the WNBA.
That said, don’t expect Clark to take it easy on the four-time NBA champion forward if his production is subpar on Sunday.
