Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers served up a comfortable win on Monday night against the Chicago Bulls on the road.

The superstar guard had a highlight-worthy game worth talking about. With another 45-point double-double in the books, Doncic made Lakers history, joining Elgin Baylor as the only Lakers players with multiple 15 and 10 games.

Doncic checked in for 38 minutes on Monday night. He shot 15-25 from the field, knocking down 8-14 from deep. He also went 8-12 from the free-throw line, to help him rack up 46 points on the night.

Along with his scoring, Doncic produced 11 assists to make it a double-double. He nearly secured the triple-double, as he came down with seven rebounds.

Doncic’s contributions helped the Lakers pick up a 129-118 win over the Bulls. With that victory, the Lakers move to 28-17 on the year, helping them improve their lead over the Phoenix Suns as the fifth seed in the Western Conference.

Now, the Lakers are right on the Houston Rockets, who hold a 27-16 record. Houston collected a win of their own against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night, leaving the Lakers in that fifth spot for another day.

The Lakers will be back on the court for a Wednesday night battle against the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road. Lately, Doncic has been dealing with a minor setback, but he hasn’t let it affect his status for the Lakers. He’s still a name to monitor as the Lakers move forward.

Heading into Monday’s action, Doncic remained the league’s top scorer. In 36 games, he shot 46 percent from the field and 33 percent from three, putting up a league-high 33.4 points per game. In addition, Doncic has posted averages of 7.8 rebounds, 8.7 assists and 1.6 steals.
