Luka Doncic continues to rewrite the NBA history books.
With his production from long range during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 116-110 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night, Doncic, 26, officially became the youngest player in league history to make 1,500 career 3-pointers.

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum was the previous record holder, but Doncic bested him by 32 days. The fact that Doncic hit the milestone against his former franchise that traded him away for pennies on the dollar a year ago is pretty fitting.
It's an impressive feat for Doncic, even though it's a record that might not last long given the high rate that young players shoot threes in the league today.
Doncic is now 58th all-time in made triples in NBA history, directly behind Bojan Bogdanović and Mike Bibby. It's a list that he'll continue to climb at a rapid rate.
After the game against Dallas, Doncic received more praise from Lakers head coach J.J. Redick for his defensive effort than his history from long range.
"We counted after the game, he had six straight stops where they targeted him," Redick said of Doncic. "Just a fantastic job from him. Then [he] makes the game-sealing defensive play with the charge on [Naji] Marshall."
Clearly, Doncic was dedicated to getting it done on both ends of the floor against Dallas. That's exactly what the Lakers will need from him on a nightly basis moving forward.
