The Los Angeles Lakers will be seeking a fourth consecutive win when they take on the Spurs in San Antonio on the second night of a back-to-back on Wednesday night. The Lakers bested the New Orleans Pelicans 111-103 on Tuesday night.

Unfortunately, they’ll be missing a key contributor for the game in San Antonio.

LeBron James won’t play against Spurs on Wednesday night

LeBron James’ streak of playing in 12 consecutive games for the Lakers will come to an end. James has officially been ruled out of the game due to left foot Joint arthritis and right sciatica.

It will be James' first missed game since Dec. 5. The star forward missed 16 of the Lakers' first 22 games of the season due to sciatica.

James' status for the contest was in question, given that it's the second night of a back-to-back. James hasn't progressed to playing in both nights of back-to-backs this season, and it remains to be seen if he will.

Following L.A.'s win over New Orleans on Tuesday night, James said that his status in back-to-backs remains to be determined moving forward.

"Every back-to-back, for the rest of the season, is TBD," James said. "I am 41. I got the most minutes in NBA history. Bank [that answer] right now."

On the season, James is averaging 21.7 points, 6.8 assists and 5.4 rebounds in 33.3 minutes per performance.
