The Los Angeles Lakers will attempt to get back on the winning trail when they face the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night.
Los Angeles suffered a 122-102 defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday, but is still in good shape 10 games into the year (they’re currently the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference with a 7-3 record).
That said, Lakers fans can’t help but eagerly await the return of the franchise’s generational 40-year-old forward, LeBron James.
Is LeBron James playing for the Lakers tonight vs. The Hornets?
No, James isn’t playing for the Lakers tonight vs. The Hornets, as the 21-time All-Star hasn’t fully recovered from sciatica on his right side.
Fortunately, though, James is undoubtedly moving in the right direction.
“Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James has progressed to contact basketball activity and will be reevaluated by team physicians in approximately 1-2 weeks,” The Athletic’s Dan Woike stated on X/Twitter last Thursday. “Any further updates will be provided at that time.”
It’s fair to say the Lakers will look different once James is reinserted into the Lakers’ starting lineup.
The franchise has been forced to rely heavily on Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves thus far, but adding James to the equation will change Los Angeles’ offensive dynamic for the better (assuming the four-time NBA champion doesn’t try to force the issue unnecessarily).
