Robert Parish is considered arguably the best winner in NBA history, but now Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James has more career wins than him.

With L.A.’s 112-108 win over the 76ers in Philadelphia on Sunday night, James passed Parish to move into second on the NBA’s all-time wins list. Parish won 1,014 regular season games over the course of his career. James now has 1,015 wins and counting. The only player with more regular season wins than James is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1,074).

LeBron James now has the second-most wins in NBA history

James discussed the accomplishment after the game, and he made sure to pay respect to Parish for helping to pave the way for future generations – something James also aims to do.

“It’s super humbling,” James said. “… To be able to be in the position to play the game that I love and still be able to do it at a high level. … Obviously I didn’t get to an opportunity to see Robert Parish when he was at the height of his game, he was in the ‘80s. I did see later when he was with the Bulls, but, you know what he meant to the game in that era especially, all those championships they were winning.

“… Being a historian of the game and being able to appreciate it, that’s what’s most important for me, appreciating the ones who came before me because they laid down the stones, they laid down the path and I’m trying to do the same thing for the next generation."

James earned his win that passed Parrish, as he put on a vintage performance in Philadelphia. He had 29 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the contest in what was easily his best performance of the season so far.

In the closing minutes of the game, James scored 10 consecutive points to lift L.A. To a difficult road victory.

James still has a little way to go to pass Abdul-Jabbar on the all-time wins list and claim the top spot – 60 wins to be exact. He could definitely do it, but he'd have to stick around for at least another season to do so.
