Leading up to the Los Angeles Lakers’ Tuesday night contest against the Utah Jazz, all the focus will be on LeBron James’ injury status.
Sciatica has affected the 40-year-old forward to start the season, but many believe there’s a legitimate possibility he could make his historic season debut (23rd NBA campaign) with the Lakers vs. The Jazz.
Is LeBron James making his historic season debut with the Lakers vs. The Jazz?
While James is listed as questionable for Los Angeles’ upcoming clash, ESPN’s Shams Charania recently reported that the four-time NBA champion wants to compete if possible.
“LeBron James is aiming and wants to make his season debut tonight at home against the Utah Jazz,” Charania stated.
“I’m told he will go through his regular pregame routine. That means his pregame nap and pregame on-court workout before a final determination is made.”
The Lakers have won 10 of their first 14 games without James occupying the franchise’s starting small forward or power forward position.
However, it’s safe to say Los Angeles will be in better shape when all three of their superstars (James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves) are in the organization’s lineup at the same time.
It’ll be up to JJ Redick to put James in a position to succeed following his 14-game absence (assuming he plays tonight), but just having the age-defying star back in the mix will do wonders for the 10-4 Lakers.
