Lakers' Luka Doncic got a Western Conference rival suspended for 3 games image

Luka Doncic apparently knows how to get his opponents riled up.

The Los Angeles Lakers' superstar is reportedly the reason a Western Conference foe has been suspended for three games.

The reports came out Saturday night, via Chris Haynes, and said this:

  • "Sacramento Kings guard Dennis Schröder has been suspended three games without pay for confronting and attempting to strike another player."
  • "Lakers star Luka Dončić was the player Kings guard Dennis Schröder sought out in the hallway for a confrontation following a Dec. 28 contest."

The first tweet didn't specify the player.

It didn't take long for the second post from Haynes that said Doncic was the root cause.

On Dec. 28, the Lakers beat the Kings, 125-101.

Doncic played 33 minutes and had 34 points, five rebounds and seven assists.

Schroeder played 19 minutes off the bench and had 11 points with seven assists.

It's not clear exactly what the dispute may have been over, but the fact that it led to a three-game suspension means it likely wasn't very pleasant as an interaction.

NBA reporting will likely get us at least a bit more info on this at some point.

The good news for the Lakers is that Doncic appears to have been the targeted and didn't earn any kind of punishment himself.
