A video surfaced on social media recently of Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick yelling at Bronny James to shoot the basketball.
James was put in the Lakers' rotation due to the multiple injuries the organization has dealt with, and frankly, he did fine with his time on the courts.
While James still has plenty to learn in the NBA, that isn't too big of a surprise given how young he is and only being in his second season. Playing with the Lakers and the organization's G League team, he’ll have a lot of opportunities to figure things out at the highest level.
Day by day, James is focused on getting better, no matter what that might entail.
When speaking to reporters, he admitted that Redick is trying to make him a better shooter, and that when the ball gets to him and he's open, he’s got to get a shot off.
“I’m trying to focus now on bettering myself off the ball,” Bronny told reporters. “Me and JJ have talked about all the ball handlers on the parent team, so I have to learn how to be effective off the ball. Have a.5 mentality — shoot the ball when I have open shots and try to get better at that.”

For a player as young as James, there's obviously a lot of nerves when he’s on the court.
He's still trying to figure out his role, so that isn't too big of a deal.
On the season, he’s shooting just 27.3% from 3-point range.
If he can increase his 3-point shooting to about 35.0% and continue to play the level of defense he has for some of the year, he should be in a decent spot moving forward.
