Things continue to go poorly for the Los Angeles Clippers during the 2025-26 NBA season. They’re currently 13th in the Western Conference standings with a record of 7-21 and now they’ll be without a key contributor for multiple weeks.
Starting center Ivica Zubac is expected to miss several weeks of action due to a Grade 2 ankle sprain that he suffered in a recent game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Ivica Zubac will be sidelined with ankle sprain
Zubac has started in all 28 of L.A.’s games so far this season and posted averages of 15.6 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 blocks in 32.0 minutes per performance.

Injury issues have plagued the Clippers all season. Bradley Beal is sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a left hip fracture, and Kawhi Leonard missed significant time due to a right foot injury. Derrick Jones Jr. Has also been sidelined since mid-November with a knee injury. Now, Zubac can be added to the list.
In Zubac's absence, Brook Lopez will likely see an increase in playing time, as will Kobe Brown.
Zubac’s name has popped up in trade rumors recently, as the veteran big man could be a very valuable contributor to a contending team, which the Clippers aren’t. But, while other teams are interested in Zubac, the Clippers have expressed no desire to move him.
That could change as the trade deadline draws closer, but for now it doesn’t seem like any move involving Zubac is imminent.
