Kawhi Leonard sometimes makes it easy to forget about him.

But the LA Clippers' star remains one of the best basketball players on the planet when he's healthy.

He provided quality evidence of that on Sunday night, dropping a career-high 55 points in a surprise win over the Detroit Pistons.

Leonard added 11 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 blocks on a dominant night. He shot 17-for-26 from the floor, 5-for-10 from 3 and 16-for-17 from the foul line.

It's those free throws that have particularly garnered some added attention.

Leonard is now 123-for-126 from the foul line this season. That's 97.6 percent.

The all-time single-season record is 98.1 percent, set by Raptors point guard Jose Calderon.

Calderon set his mark in the 2008-09 season, going 151-for-154 from the foul line during that campaign.

Leonard is certainly in range of taking a run at that mark. He's having a great season overall, averaging more than 27 points per game.

The Clippers have been a major disappointment, but Leonard is doing his part, including from the charity stripe.
