Chris Paul wants to stay close to his family in free agency.

That made Los Angeles a desirable destination for the future Hall of Famer.

L.A., of course, has two NBA teams: the Lakers and the Clippers.

According to NBA reporter Jake Weinbach, Paul is closing in on a deal with the Clippers.

CP3, of course, played for the Clippers back when they were Lob City and he teamed with Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.

Paul is a 12-time All-Star, a six-time steals champ and a five-time assist champ.

Now 40 years old, Paul is probably looking at his final NBA season.

In 2024-25, he started all 82 games for the Spurs. He put up 8.8 points, 7.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

In his career, Paul has averaged 17.0 points, 9.2 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

He has shot above 37% from 3-point range each of the past three seasons, too.

The Clippers could certainly use another veteran winner like Paul to join their experienced group.

And if it's the Clippers and not the Lakers, it's a bit of a swing in the L.A. hoops rivalry.
