Bradley Beal gives simple four-word answer on why he signed with the Clippers image

The Clippers' front office has been active this offseason.

Bradley Beal was one of several veteran players the team acquired, in hopes of building a roster that can finally get over the hump and make a postseason run.

Los Angeles will be the third team Beal plays for in his career, after time in Washington and Phoenix.

When asked recently why he chose to sign with the Clippers, Beal gave a simple four-word answer.

What did Beal say?

Reporter Tamar Sher asked Beal in an interview why he decided to sign with the Clippers. It was a simple answer for Beal, saying, "I need a ring."

Beal was very loyal to the Wizards for years, as he played on some solid rosters in the early years of his career.

He made several second-round series appearances in the playoffs with the Wizards, but never advanced farther than that.

After the Wizards went into rebuild mode, Beal decided to move on after 11 seasons with the team.

He was traded to the Suns, where he played for two seasons. He joined Devin Booker and Kevin Durant in what was viewed as one of the best big threes in the NBA.

His time there didn't amount to much, as the Suns had just one series in the postseason in 2023-24.

The Suns decided to part ways with Beal after this past season, buying out a significant contract. This gave Beal the freedom to sign where he wanted, as he tries to capitalize on winning a championship in the small window of time he has left in his prime.

Beal will be 32 next season, and he's coming off a couple of down years with the Suns. He still has a place in the league where he can be valuable and contribute to winning, but Beal understands he'll need help.

He joins a Clippers team where he'll have help from the likes of James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, John Collins and several other key players.

The Clippers won't have it easy, as several other teams are looking to make playoff pushes of their own, but they should have just as good of a shot at being in the mix as any other top contender in the league.
