Mac McClung was an exciting signing for the Indiana Pacers.
It wasn't that long ago, either. The Pacers signed McClung on Oct. 28, which works out to nine days ago.
But on Nov. 6, Thursday, the Pacers waived McClung, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
McClung had scored 6.3 points per game in 11.3 minutes a night in his short stint.
The Pacers, per Charania, are signing Monte Morris into the roster opening.

Why did the Pacers waive Mac McClung?
The Pacers waived McClung to continue searching for a solution at point guard.
With Tyrese Haliburton out for the year and T.J. McConnell out to start the season, the Pacers have still not found a good enough offensive initiator.
The veteran Morris is a solid signing who should help in that regard.
McClung, a three-time Slam Dunk Contest champion, has won an MVP in the G League but gotten very little chance to break through in the NBA.
He didn't play poorly in this stint, but he wasn't a game changer to an extent that the Pacers needed to keep him around.
Because of the non-guaranteed nature of McClung's contract that was signed, the Pacers incur a $164,000 cap hit this season, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks, and no penalty for next season.
McClung could be claimed on waivers, but more likely he'll pass through before seeking a fresh contract with a new team.
