At age 37, Kevin Durant remains one of the most prolific scorers in the NBA.

The Houston Rockets forward put on a scoring masterclass against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night in the Rockets’ 110-105 victory in Houston, Texas.

Durant checked in for 40 minutes on the night. He shot efficiently, going 11-18 from the field. He went to the free throw line for 14 attempts, where he knocked down 11 of them.

From three, Durant went 6-8. He finished the game with nearly as many points as his minutes (39 points).

It wasn’t just his scoring, though. Durant racked up seven assists on the offensive end. Then defensively, he came down with four rebounds, while coming up with two steals and one block.

NBA Fans React to Kevin Durant’s Performance

@KD_SNZ7: THE GOAT

@SelvaVerse: Kevin Durant greatness aging embarrassingly well

@Corner_Coyote: They got Jaden McDaniels but we got Kevin Durant

With Friday’s victory, the Rockets moved to 23-15 on the season. They are chasing the Los Angels Lakers in the Western Conference, who currently hold the fifth seed with a 24-15 record. Houston has a 0.5 game lead over Durant’s former team, the Phoenix Suns.

@ismailbayirliog: Kevin Durant still doing this like it’s normal.

@balldontstop: Kevin Durant is easily a top 10 basketball talent of all-time. Eye test and ability? You can argue top five. Pure skill for 18 straight years.

@BiasedHouston: Perplexed at the people who *insist* the Kevin Durant trade was a mistake. We are getting blown out in this game this time last year without Fred.

The Rockets still have some key questions that need answering, but whether Durant’s still got it or not cannot be questioned. The veteran forward is likely working on a third-straight All-Star bid during his first go-round with the Rockets.

In 36 games leading up to Friday’s action, Durant has posted averages of 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists. He is shooting 51 percent from the field and 39 percent from three.

After Houston’s Friday night action, they’ll look ahead to Sunday, when they host the New Orleans Pelicans for a matchup.
