The Golden State Warriors fell short of another NBA championship in 2024-25 after losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Semifinals.

It was a tough defeat, but a lot of lessons were learned by head coach Steve Kerr and the Warriors. They will look to improve in 2025-26.

Although last season ended earlier than anticipated, it was cut even shorter for superstar guard Stephen Curry, who strained his hamstring in Game 1 against Minnesota and missed the rest of the series. Injuries like that have Warriors fans wondering how much more the franchise legend has left in the tank.

Stephen Curry addresses retirement before the start of 2025-26 season

Sadly, as Stephen Curry enters his 17th season in the NBA, it's just a matter of time before retirement comes.

The 37-year-old sat down with ESPN's Malika Andrews and addressed the subject in an interview.

"I know it's closer than it was even yesterday. Acknowledging it is fun, because the more I talk about it, the more I appreciate what all goes into preparing yourself. All that stuff is the privilege that you earned, but I'm trying not to put any time stamps or anything, other than the sense of urgency in the now," Curry said.

There's no shame in saying that the four-time NBA champion, 11-time All-Star, and NBA leader in career three-pointers made is only getting closer to that time. However, it seems that he's still just as poised for winning a championship as he was as a 21-year-old getting drafted with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.
