Stephen Curry usually finds a way to enjoy himself on the basketball court.

That was true for sure at the Golden State Warriors' open practice in front of fans on Thursday night.

This time, Curry did it with his wardrobe. He was wearing No. 31, not his usual 30.

The No. 30 was on the back of his brother and new teammate, Seth Curry.

This has already been a point of discussion earlier in the preseason. Seth has worn No. 30 previously in his NBA career, but upon joining the Warriors, he and everyone else knows that Steph wears 30 and there isn't any changing that.

So for the 2025-26 season, Seth will wear No. 31 (which for whatever it's worth is the number Klay Thompson wears in Dallas after wearing 11 for the Warriors).

But on this open practice night, Steph and Seth switched numbers.

It's not a signal of any actual change to come, and almost certainly was done just to have a little fun.

It's unlikely that the defense would get confused as to which Curry is which. Steph is pretty recognizable after more than a decade of being one of the best basketball players the game has ever seen.

It would be quite the financially intriguing move for Steph to switch numbers, because a whole heck of a lot of new jerseys would get sold. Although even now, people could go buy a Curry 31 jersey that was technically representing Seth and have the brothers covered.

Don't expect any late surprises, though. Steph has been wearing 30 so far in preseason games and will surely be donning it for the rest of his career.
