The Golden State Warriors haven’t played particularly well to start the 2025-26 campaign.

The franchise has lost four of its last six contests and has been without its star point guard, Stephen Curry,  for three consecutive games due to illness.

Before the Warriors’ upcoming contest against the unbeaten Oklahoma City Thunder, Curry received an update on his status for the marquee Western Conference clash from head coach Steve Kerr.

“Steve Kerr said Steph Curry won’t play tonight but will get a workout in tonight and tomorrow morning,” ESPN’s Anthony Slater wrote on X/Twitter Sunday. “Feeling better and will go on road trip. “He said they’re hopeful he returns in Oklahoma City on Tuesday."

Kerr was even more positive while discussing Curry’s availability following the Warriors’ dominant 114-83 victory over the Indiana Pacers.

“Steve Kerr: “We’re expecting Steph (Curry) to be back Tuesday,” Slater stated. “Warriors are at Thunder to open six-game trip.”

The Warriors deserve ample credit for their bounce-back victory against the Pacers (they entered the contest on a two-game losing streak).

Jimmy Butler led the way with 21 points, but it’s worth noting the franchise received solid contributions from Quentin Post, Brandin Podziemski, Al Horford, Moses Moody, and Will Richard.

Still, the Warriors won’t go far without Curry in the organization’s lineup.

The four-time NBA champion was sidelined for the Warriors’ second-round playoff matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to a Grade 1 calf strain, and the Dubs couldn’t generate enough offense to keep their championship hopes alive.

Golden State has enough talent to defeat a lowly franchise like the Pacers, but it'll need Curry at full strength to take down the big dogs this season. The good news is that the future Hall of Famer will likely be back in action on Tuesday night.
