The Golden State Warriors had an open two-way spot entering the new week, and elected to use it before Monday evening arrived.

According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the organization signed a 6-foot-9 former Oklahoma City Thunder forward to assist Stephen Curry.

“Golden State Warriors and Malevy Leons have agreed to a two-way deal,” Scotto reported on X/Twitter. "He played six games for the OKC Thunder last season. He’s averaged 14.6 points (51% field goal shooting and 44% three-point shooting), 7.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.8 steals in the G League."

Leons, who spent three seasons with Bradley before taking his talents to the next level, competed with Thunder during the 2024 NBA Summer League to begin his professional career.

Although Leons didn’t make the Thunder’s opening night roster, he inked a deal with the franchise shortly after getting waived and averaged 0.3 points to go along with 0.5 rebounds in six outings.

Unfortunately for Leons, though he didn’t get a chance to win an NBA championship with Oklahoma City because he was waived before the end of the regular season (he spent most of the 2024-25 season with the Thunder’s G-League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue).

The Ijumuiden, Netherlands native secured an Exhibit 10 contract with the Thunder this past season. However, for the second consecutive season, he was released before the start of the regular season.

It’ll be interesting to see what Leons can accomplish in a Warriors uniform moving forward.
