The Golden State Warriors are in one of the most difficult spots in the NBA. They have been without Stephen Curry for a portion of this season, and the rest of their team is either old or inconsistent.
Despite this, they have a short window of two years where they will be able to compete for a championship with their current core. Unfortunately, they will probably have to make a significant move for that dream to come true.
Luckily, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks aren’t on the best of terms as of late, and NBA insider Jake Fischer recently revealed some massive details on a potential trade between the two.
“The only player I think in the league that Golden State would be willing to move Draymond Green for would be Giannis Antetokounmpo. That’s the only player,” Fischer said Thursday.
“Between him and Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski, all of a sudden Golden State probably does have an intriguing package if you’re Milwaukee. But I don’t think that they are going to be pushing Draymond’s salary onto the table — or Jimmy Butler’s salary — for anyone short of him.”
The Warriors would be willing to include Draymond Green in a potential trade if it meant landing Antetokounmpo.
Of course, they would have to give up more than the four-time champion, which would likely mean parting ways with Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski, or Jonathan Kuminga, along with some of their draft capital.
Giannis and Jimmy Butler have had their fair share of duels, but the possibility of them teaming up with each other would squash any existing beef the two may have.
At this point in their careers, Giannis is much more impactful than Draymond. Although he has been a part of their team for his whole career, a pairing of Giannis and Curry would be much more exciting.
