The Golden State Warriors were involved in the historic seven-team Kevin Durant trade last summer.
They weren't the main course, which was KD moving from the Phoenix Suns to the Houston Rockets. But the Warriors got involved as teams figured out how best to maneuver picks and players and money around in a variety of smaller deals.
That involvement took a turn on Monday, when the Warriors waived one of the players they had added in the trade.
Alex Toohey has been cut loose by Golden State on Monday, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.

Toohey was one of two pieces who moved to the Warriors in the deal, along with Jahmai Mashack. And Mashack is already long gone, now in the Grizzlies' organization.
The 6-foot-8 Toohey is from Australia and was the No. 52 overall pick by the Suns in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Toohey hasn't played a minute for the Warriors yet, and he's also been dealing with a knee injury.
Before coming to the NBA, Toohey played two seasons for Sydney in Australia's NBL. There, he averaged 9.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.7 blocks per game. He shot poorly from 3-point range (28%), though, which might limit his long-term upside.
Another team could choose to pick up Toohey and give him a chance, but if that doesn't happen, he could also return home and get solid minutes in the NBL.
