Warriors head coach Steve Kerr opens up about his heated argument with Draymond Green image

Draymond Green has always been known as a vocal player to both opponents and teammates. During the Golden State Warriors' game against the Orlando Magic on Monday, Green got into a heated argument with his head coach, Steve Kerr.

Considering they have worked together for over a decade, they have a close relationship. Kerr is familiar with Green's outbursts, but it looks like this time, it was a clash between the four-time champion forward and his longtime coach.

Kerr admits Green wanted to return to the locker room

Early in the third quarter, the Warriors were not playing as well as the rest of the game. Kerr felt they were out of sorts, so he called a timeout. That led to Green clashing with Kerr, which is a bit bizarre, considering their lengthy relationship over the years.

Green is always known for wearing his heart on his sleeve, and that was evident in his heated discussion with Kerr. It led to Green returning to the locker room to cool off, while Kerr continued to coach the Warriors.

In the fourth quarter, Green returned to the bench, but Kerr had no interest in putting him back in. The Warriors dominantly won the game, as they blew out the Magic, 120-97.

"We got into it, obviously, and I took the timeout because I thought we lost our focus. We had it out a little bit, and he made his decision to go back to the locker room and cool off, and that's what I'll say about it. Everything is private, and nothing further than that. He wasn't coming back in," Kerr said after the win against the Magic

In the same press conference, Kerr deflected some questions toward Green. He was not going to dive into what happened, as he felt it was Green's decision. The four-time champion forward did not return to the game, but his presence on the bench could mean the issue has been resolved.

Of course, there is a possibility of a growing rift between Green and his longtime head coach. It will be another interesting wrinkle in the Warriors' season, as they continue to have some issues throughout the team.
