The Golden State Warriors are struggling to win games, but Stephen Curry isn’t at fault for the franchise’s early-season shortcomings.

The four-time NBA champion is in a zone with the Dubs in late-December, as he’s netted 102 total points in his last three contests. Unfortunately, the Warriors lost all three of those games (against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, and Phoenix Suns) and are in grave danger of dropping out of the Top 10 in the Western Conference.

Although Curry is on the record stating he would love to end his career with the Dubs no matter what, Pierre Anderson, the host of the popular Numbers on the Board podcast, recently urged the 37-year-old superstar to leave Jimmy Butler and the Warriors this season.

“We’re watching Stephen Curry not be able to get wins, and he’s still playing at that level, so yeah, I’m frustrated and mad,” Anderson said Tuesday. “I’m swiping left on the whole team. Steph, request a trade, do some power move.”

Warriors fans couldn’t be mad if Curry elected to search for greener pastures elsewhere. The Davidson product has given Golden State everything he has for nearly two decades, and shouldn’t have to spend the last leg of his NBA journey competing with an easily-exposed Warriors club that’s two games below.500.

Seriously, what aging/accomplished superstar would be interested in averaging 28.8 points per game while connecting on 47.5% of his field goals and 40.4% of his triples on a team destined to bow out early in the postseason (assuming the Warriors make it that far)?

If Golden State wants to keep Curry encouraged and optimistic in the Bay, it has no choice but to use its best trade assets (Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, and perhaps Draymond Green) to acquire a perfect complementary star to pair with Curry.

Time will tell if the Warriors turn things around before it's too late.
