After a five-game stint on the sideline due to a quad injury, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry returned to game action against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night. There was no visible rust for the two-time MVP as he poured in 39 points in the contest. Unfortunately for Golden State, Curry’s production wasn’t enough in the end, as they lost the game, 127-120.
The Warriors will be back in action when they play the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night. The question is, will Curry be back in action also?
Steph Curry will play against Trail Blazers on Sunday night
Quad injuries can be tricky, so sometimes players might miss a game out of precaution after a return from such an injury. However, that won’t be the case with Curry. The star guard isn’t listed on the official injury report for the game, so he’ll be good to go and available to play.
As a team, the Warriors are very healthy heading into the game against Portland. Al Horford is their only player listed on the injury report. He’s been ruled out for the game with a right sciatic nerve issue. It will be the fourth consecutive game missed by Horford.
On the other side of the court, the Blazers will be missing a plethora of players due to various ailments. Scoot Henderson, Jrue Holiday, Matisse Thybulle and Blake Westly have all been ruled out of the game for Portland.
The matchup will be the third of the season already between Golden State and Portland. The Blazers won both of the first two meetings – one in October and one in November. Given the way those first matchups went, the Warriors should be hungry for some revenge on Sunday night.
