The Golden State Warriors will take on the 76ers in Philadelphia on Thursday night, but unfortunately for fans in Philly, they won’t get an opportunity to watch Warriors star guard Steph Curry go to work.

Curry has missed Golden State’s past two games due to a quad injury, and he won’t play against the Sixers either as he has been officially ruled out of the contest.

Curry didn’t even travel with the Warriors for their current road trip, which means that he’ll miss upcoming games in Cleveland and Chicago as well as the one in Philly.

Curry’s return from the injury is taking a little longer than expected, as he was initially expected to miss about a week of action. However, he’ll end up missing over two weeks at least, which obviously isn’t ideal for a Warriors team looking to keep pace in the competitive Western Conference.

The Warriors currently sit at 11-11, which is good for eighth in the conference standings. Meanwhile, the Sixers sit ninth in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 11-9.

Golden State has struggled on the road this season, as the team is just 4-8 away from the friendly confines of the Chase Center. So, the three-game road trip without their best player will be a very tough test for the team.

The game will be the first of two meetings between the teams on the season as the Warriors are also scheduled to host the Sixers on Feb. 3.
