Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors took care of business on Friday night against the Sacramento Kings.

The matchup was a cakewalk for Curry’s Warriors, as they issued the Kings their 30th loss of the year. It was done in blowout fashion, as Golden State won 137-103.

After the game, Curry was asked about the Warriors-Kings “rivalry.” Clearly, the former MVP doesn’t see the battle as anything more than two California teams facing off.

“Geographically, yes,” Curry said when asked if the Kings and the Warriors are rivals. “That's about it.”

Well, it’s hard to argue that.

The Warriors and the Kings have faced each 418 times in the history of their existence. The all-time record for the battle isn’t as lopsided as it would seem. The Warriors have 220 wins, while the Kings have 198. Considering playoff and championship success, it's clearly not close.

It’s been quite a while since Golden State has dominated the series to the point where they didn’t even let the Kings get one on them. Back in 2021-2022, the Warriors swept the Kings, and only allowed for one win out of four games in the following year.

Since then, it’s been a split series throughout the regular season. The Warriors’ win on Friday night was their first over the Kings this year, as they lost to Sacramento on November 5.

Curry checked in for 32 minutes. He shot 10-21 from the field, and knocked down six of his 12 shots from beyond the arc. The veteran guard produced 27 points, 10 assists, one steal, and one block.

The Kings and the Warriors will go head-to-head again on April 7. The series will close out on April 10, with a finale in Sacramento, California.
