The Golden State Warriors are entering desperation mode.

Stephen Curry is still injured (right quad contusion), and even when the four-time NBA champion has been active, the Dubs have struggled due to their lackluster supporting cast.

However, that could all change if the organization executes ESPN’s Zach Kram’s ‘Hail Mary’ trade that would end the franchise’s Jonathan Kuminga nightmare and land a Milwaukee Bucks superstar forward.

“This (Giannis Antetokounmpo and Thanasis Antetokounmpo to the Warriors for Buddy Hield, Jonathan Kuminga, Buddy Hield, and four future first-round picks to the Bucks) would be a Hail Mary trade for both teams,” Kram wrote Thursday.

“For the Warriors, a blockbuster trade would represent an attempt to break out of the funk that has plagued them this season.

“Adding Antetokounmpo would be a supercharged version of last season's trade for Jimmy Butler III and create a championship-caliber core, potentially with enough depth behind that star trio to scare the (Oklahoma City) Thunder and the West's best teams.”

Kram’s Antetokounmpo-centered trade idea would, without doubt, be a last-ditch effort to salvage the Warriors' season and prove they should be taken seriously as contenders in the Western Conference.

Moving on from Kuminga would be a no-brainer, as the 6-foot-7 NBA champion has made life stressful for Kerr and the Warriors lately.

From taking the ‘feel sorry for me’ approach after getting benched earlier in the season to making little to no progress as a perimeter shooter since landing with the Dubs in 2022, Kuminga’s tenure with the Bay has been more negative than positive.

Antetokounmpo, on the other hand, has been the Bucks’ most valuable player for years. The 30-year-old hasn’t hesitated to put the franchise on his back and be its go-to scoring/playmaking option.

The problem Antetokounmpo is facing is that Milwaukee isn’t trending upward from a contention standpoint, which isn’t good news for a superstar expecting to compete for a championship yearly.

Joining Butler and Curry on the Warriors would drastically improve the Greek Freak’s situation and help Golden State make a legitimate title run in the NBA’s most competitive conference (Western).
