The Golden State Warriors are in win-now mode. They saw a glimpse of what the core of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green could do, and now they are desperate to build a championship team around them. Because of this, Warriors trade rumors have already been in the headlines. One dream scenario would be for a Warriors-Giannis Antetokounmpo trade to position the team to contend now and throughout the rest of Curry’s career. Unfortunately, in a recent interview, one player may have ruined the team’s shot at recruiting Giannis to the Warriors.

In his recent interview with Kay Adams on Up and Adams, Podziemski addressed the idea of Giannis leaving Milwaukee

"Anywhere else just doesn’t seem right at all,” he said when asked about what it would be like to see Giannis in a different jersey.

When it comes to the Warriors-Giannis trade rumors, this comment certainly can’t help.

There are multiple reasons why Podziemski might have said this. First of all, Podziemski is a Milwaukee native. He watched Giannis bring a championship to his hometown team, something every fan holds onto dearly.

Another layer of Podziemski’s comments is that if a Warriors-Giannis trade does come to fruition, it may mean that Podziemski would be one of the players included in the deal.

Podziemski is one of the few exciting assets that a rebuilding team would want in a trade with the Warriors. Therefore, by putting some pressure on Giannis to stay in Milwaukee, he is, in a way, saving himself from getting traded.
