The Golden State Warriors have dominated trade rumors recently, which makes sense considering they're arguably the most desperate franchise on the market.
According to a bombshell trade report involving Giannis Antetokounmpo and Anthony Davis, the Warriors may have a mind-blowing up their sleeve.
“When discussing this (Andrew)Wiggins-(Jonathan) Kuminga swap scenario with rival front offices, many tend to believe that such a move could be a precursor for the Warriors to make an even greater move before the Feb. 5 deadline,” ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel stated Wednesday.
“Although (Mike) Dunleavy and the Warriors have pushed back at the notion of trading Butler following his injury, league personnel believe trading for Wiggins could be a part of a larger scheme for Golden State to move Butler for either Anthony Davis or Giannis Antetokounmpo.”
Landing Davis or Antetokounmpo would help cheer Curry and the Warriors up after Butler’s brutal torn ACL diagnosis. It isn’t far-fetched that the Warriors would catapult back into the championship picture with either superstar taking his talents to the Bay.
With Davis being the more injury-prone contributor of the two, entering the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes seems to be the more viable option. Luckily for the Warriors, Antetokounmpo is officially on the trade market, per ESPN’s Shams Charania’s Wednesday morning report.
It’s now up to the seven-time NBA champions to identify the most logical avenue to bringing Antetokounmpo on board sooner than later.
