The Detroit Pistons find themselves with a chance to chase the top of the Eastern Conference.
Some would view this as the perfect time to swing a blockbuster trade and go for it.
If Detroit wants to take that route, the obvious target is Anthony Davis. The future Hall of Fame big guy isn't likely to be a part of the Dallas Mavericks' long-term plans. Things can change quickly, with Davis having just moved to the Mavs in February in the Luka Doncic deal.
But now with Dallas looking to build around 18-year old Cooper Flagg, Davis is probably expendable.
If the Pistons are willing to deal with Davis' unpredictable health, he's an upgrade worth pursuing.
ESPN put together a trade idea for Davis that would involve Detroit sending Tobias Harris, Jaden Ivey and Ron Holland III to get AD.
"The Pistons are among the most interesting teams this trade season, as the surprise Eastern Conference leaders must decide whether to take advantage of their opportunity to reach the Finals or remain patient with their young core," ESPN's Zach Kram writes. "If they lean in the former direction, Davis would be a worthy veteran addition, infusing championship experience with a young roster and supporting one of the league's best defenses."
The Mavericks would like getting Ivey and Holland to align with their younger core, while losing Harris but adding Davis would work out nicely for the Pistons.
ESPN's Bobby Marks, in his analysis of this trade proposal, suggested that it might need a draft pick or two going to Dallas to pull it off.
Would Detroit pay that much? We may get a chance to find out.
