On Tuesday morning, Nuggets guard Russell Westbrook made an injury announcement that shocked many.
It wasn't known that Westbrook was playing through an injury this season, but the one-time MVP informed fans that he played through an ailment.
Westbrook gave fans a personal update on his newsletter, saying he played through multiple bone breaks this past season.
Westbrook is undergoing surgery to fix the breaks on Tuesday.
He appeared to be in good spirits, saying: "I can't wait to be back out there at 100% soon. The comeback is already in motion. #whynot"

Russ has been extremely durable throughout his career and will enter Year 18 for the 2025-26 NBA season.
Despite bouncing around the league over the past few years, Westbrook embraced his role with the Nuggets, being one game away from the WCF this postseason.
Westbrook does have a player option for next season worth about $3.5 million that he will have to make a decision on in the coming months.
In his 17th NBA season, Westbrook averaged 13.3 points, 6.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game. His efficiency reached a new milestone as he shot a career-high 50.5 eFG%.
